SWGWILD is one of about 20 forensic Scientific Working Groups in the US. SWGWILD’s aim is to produce guidance documents and standards to meet the unique needs of wildlife forensic practitioners, advancing the science and improving communications within our maturing discipline.
To date, SWGWILD has produced:
- A white paper which highlights the continued need for wildlife forensic science and SWGWILD’s guidance
- Standards and Guidelines for DNA and morphological forensic wildlife analyses
- A set of minimum qualifications necessary to become a certified wildlife forensic analyst
